People who have been vaccinated with Russian vaccines face discrimination. This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by the Russian Foreign Ministry's Commissioner for Human Rights, Democracy and the rule of Law, Deputy director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights Grigory Lukyantsev.
"As for possible discrimination on the basis of vaccines, we can really say that to a certain extent such discrimination is observed," the diplomat said. Lukyantsev also noted that due to" political considerations", international organizations artificially slow down the process of recognizing the Russian drug, despite the proven effectiveness and safety of the Sputnik V vaccine.
"As a result, a number of countries that are focused on some kind of relief in the fight against coronavirus infection are introducing essentially discriminatory measures against those who are vaccinated with Russian vaccines," the Foreign Ministry commissioner summed up. According to Lukyantsev, these measures are "abnormal and unacceptable" given the fact that Russia fully recognizes Western drugs and has never imposed any restrictions on those vaccinated with them.
At the moment, about 60 countries have registered the Russian vaccine. In addition to Russia, the vaccine is being produced or prepared in Hungary, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Slovakia, Argentina, India, South Korea, China, Germany, Italy and Egypt.
